Mañana sábado 27 de febrero es una fecha que seguramente no olvidaré…
Mi cuarteto de guitarras «El lenguaje de las estrellas» será interpretada  por los alumnos de guitarra de una de los más prestigiosos e importantes centros de formación artística de todo el mundo la Juilliard School.
El concierto tendrá lugar a las 5.30 p.m.  en el «Morse Hall» del Lincoln Center de Nueva York, sede de la Juilliard.
Es como un sueño…
ACTUALIZACION: Una fuerte tormenta de nieve en Nueva York ha obligado a aplazar el concierto. Os comunicaré la nueva fecha.
ACTUALIZACION (2): El concierto será el Sábado 13 de marzo a las 18.00 en el Aula de Ensayo de Orquesta, Room 309 (60 Lincoln Center Plaza).

My guitar quartet «The language of the stars» will be performed by the guitar students of one of the most prestigious and important Arts training centers around the world,The Juilliard School.
The concert will take place at 5:30 p.m. in «Morse Hall» at Lincoln Center in New York, home of the Juilliard.

UPDATE: A heavy snowstorm in New York has forced to postpone the concert. I will communicate the new date.

Finalizo esta semana de buenas noticias sobre la interpretación de mi música, con una noticia importante.
Tali Roth, prestigiosa profesora de guitarra de The Juilliard School de Nueva York y responsable del Pre-College Ensemble, me ha confirmado que mi música se trabajará en este centro musical, considerado uno de los más prestigiosos del mundo.
En concreto interpretará con sus alumnos “Venus”, 2º movimiento de mi obra  para cuarteto de guitarras “El lenguaje de las estrellas”.
El concierto está previsto para el 26 de febrero de 2010 en el Lincoln Center de Nueva York, sede de la Juilliard.
¡Es un gran honor para mi y un estímulo para seguir trabajando!

Tali Roth, prestigious guitar professor at The Juilliard School in New York and head of Pre-College Ensemble, has confirmed to me that my music will be work in this musical center, considered one of the most prestigious in the world.
Your students will perform  “Venus”, 2nd movement of my guitar quartet score “The language of the stars.”
The concert is scheduled for February 24, 2010 at Lincoln Center in New York, home of  Juilliard.
It’s a great honor for me and an encouragement to continue working!

Cuando publico una obra original en GuitarInEnsemble.com, muchas veces, me siento como un naufrago que envía un mensaje en una botella.  Nunca sé que va ocurrir con esa parte de mi, que ha estado luchando en mi cabeza durante meses por nacer, que expresa mis más profundos sentimientos, mis ilusiones, mis ganas de vivir y de crear belleza para compartirla con los demás.
Siempre tengo la esperanza de que mi mensaje llegue a la orilla de algún músico que dedique su tiempo y su  trabajo a darle vida en sus manos.
Es el fin esencial de la música, y del Arte, existir para hacer felices a los demás.
Pues este pequeño milagro ha ocurrido de nuevo con mi obra «El lenguaje de las estrellas», que va a ser interpretada en el Auditorio del Real Conservatorio Superior de Madrid el próximo 22 de enero a las 16.00 h por el Cuarteto de Guitarras «Quatre Vents».
El cuarteto, que ha nacido en el mismo conservatorio, está formado por José Broncano, María Fernández, Juan José Pazos y Guillermo Vílchez.
Aunque de creación muy reciente, la variada formación musical y artística de sus miembros, con una importante experiencia en la interpretación de diferentes músicas y estilos, hacen que este cuarteto aporte una forma muy personal y original de aproximarse y de interpretar la música.
Ellos han rescatado mi mensaje de la botella, y esto me llena de alegría.

When I publish an original work in  GuitarInEnsemble.com often I feel like a shipwrecked that sends a message in a bottle. I never know what it will  happen with that part of me that has been fighting in my head for months to be born, expressing my deepest feelings, my dreams, my will to live and create beauty to share with others.
I always have the hope that my message reaches in the shore of a musician who devotes his time and work to bring it life into your hands.
It is the essential purpose of music and art, exist to make others happy.
Well, this little miracle has happened again with my score «The lenguage of the stars», which will be performed in the Auditorium of the Royal Conservatory in Madrid next January 22 at 16.00 pm by the guitar quartet «Quatre Vents .
The quartet, who was born in the Conservatory, is formed by José Broncano,  María Fernandez, Juan Jose Pazos and Guillermo Vílchez. Although very recent creation,  the varied musical and artistic training of its members with an important  experience in music interpretation of different styles, provides this quartet a very personal and original approach to music.
They have saved my message of the bottle, and this fills me with joy.

El Cuarteto de Guitarras Terpsícore sigue llevando mi obra «El lenguaje de las estrellas» alrededor del mundo.
Esta vez van a interpretarla en Moscú, en dos conciertos organizados por la Embajada Española:
* 27 de diciembre de 2008 en el Centro Español de los niños de la guerra.
* 29 de diciembre de 2008 en la Universidad de Moscú.
Os recuerdo que podéis escuchar un movimiento de la obra y descargarla completa totalmente gratis en Free guitar quartet scores.

The Terpsícore Guitar Quartet continue playing my work «The language of the stars» around the world.

El Cuarteto Terpsicore realizará el estreno internacional mi obra para cuatro guitarras «El lenguaje de las estrellas», en una gira de conciertos en Corea del Sur, que organiza la Embajada Española en este país.
Estoy muy contento de que mi obra haya sido seleccionada junto con otras de prestigiosos compositores contemporáneos como Carles Guinovart o Leo Brouwer para formar parte del programa que lleva por título «Músicas de Iberia».
Desde que empecé la promoción de mi obra, varios cuartetos de diferentes países se han interesado y esto me ilusiona y me ayuda a seguir trabajando. También he recibido varios e-mails de apoyo y de ánimo, muy valiosos para mi.
A todos: GRACIAS.
La gira se iniciará el próximo 14 de mayo en el Onnury Arthall de Seúl.
Os recuerdo que la obra puede descargarse completa de forma gratuita.

The Cuarteto Terpsicore will do the international premiere of my score for four guitars «The language of the stars» at a concert tour in South Korea, which organizes the Spanish Embassy in this country.
I am very happy that my work has been selected along with other prestigious contemporary composers such as Leo Brouwer and Carles Guinovart for the program «Músicas de Iberia.»
Since I started promoting my work, several quartets from different countries have expressed interest and this illusion and helps me keep working. I have also received several e-mails of support and encouragement, very valuable to me.
To everyone: THANK YOU.
The tour will begin next May 14 at Seoul Onnury Arthall.

El pasado 28 de enero estuve en Barcelona, en el estreno de mi obra «El lenguaje de las estrellas».
¡Para mi fue un momento mágico y muy emocionante!
Escribí la obra el pasado verano.
No fue fácil, soy un compositor que sufro bastante cuando escribo: todo el día la música da vueltas en la cabeza, hay días que soy capaz de escribir un compás, otros días nada, de repente encuentro el camino que había perdido…etc… :-(
Mientras la escuchaba en Barcelona, en una magistral interpretación del Cuarteto Terpsicore a la que siguieron los generosos aplausos del público, pensaba que todo mi esfuerzo había valido la pena y, una vez más, tuve la sensación de que no era yo el que había escrito la obra… sin embargo, mi nombre aparecía en el programa como el autor.
¡Enhorabuena Cuarteto Terpsicore, os deseo muchos éxitos!

On January 28 I was in Barcelona in the first performance of my score «The language of the stars.»
It was a magic moment and very exciting!
I wrote this work last summer.
It was not easy, I am a composer who suffer enough when writing: all-day music circles on my head, there are days that I am able to write a bar, other days nothing, suddenly find the road that had lost … etc. … :-(
While I was listening it in Barcelona, in a masterly interpretation of the Cuarteto Terpsicore and then, the generous applause of the audience, I thought that all my effort was worth it, and, once again, I had the feeling that it was not who had written the score … However, my name appeared on the program as the composer.
Congratulations Cuarteto Terpsicore, I wish you a lot of successes!

Muy contento os presento, por fin, la fecha de estreno de mi Cuarteto para guitarras «El lenguaje de las estrellas».
Será en el Espai Cultural de la Fundación Caja Madrid en Barcelona (Pza. de Cataluña 9), el próximo día 28 de enero a las 19:30 h. a cargo del Cuarteto Terpsicore.
Después será interpretada en diversos conciertos que este cuarteto tiene previsto ofrecer durante 2008 a nivel nacional e internacional, como en el XIV Encuentro Internacional de Guitarra Clásica Ciudad de Guía (Canarias) y en el Instituto Cervantes de Munich (Alemania).
Después del estreno la obra estará disponible para todos vosotros para su descarga completa gratuita.

Very happy I show you, at last, the first performance date of my Guitar Quartet «The language of the stars».
It will be at Espai Cultural de la Fundación Caja Madrid (Plaza Catalunya,9) in Barcelona (Spain),January 28 at 19:30 pm by the Cuarteto Terpsicore.
Then it will be played too in several concerts that this Quartet plans to offer during 2008 at national and international events, as in the XIV Encuentro Internacional de Guitarra Clásica Ciudad de Guía (Canary Islands) and the Cervantes Institute in Munich (Germany).
After the opening concert the full score will be available to you for download it for free.

Hoy es un día feliz e importante para mi: he finalizado el cuarteto para guitarras «El lenguaje de las estrellas»! :-)
Pronto voy a ponerla, después de su estreno, disponible para su descarga completamente gratuita en mi web.

Continuo escribiendo «El lenguaje de las estrellas».
Ahora estoy en el tercer y último movimiento titulado «Pegaso».
La constelación lleva el nombre de este mítico caballo alado.
La leyenda griega sitúa a Pegaso en el castigo a la excesiva ambición.
El tema principal de la obra es un brillante y transparente juego entre las diferentes guitarras, que de forma ágil, dibujan síncopas y rápidas escalas con la base de armonías jazzísticas y ritmos de influencia africana, que simbolizan la pureza y bravura de este mitológico caballo alado.
Belerofonte recibe su castigo por su malvada ambición y querer montar a Pegaso.
Ahora estoy «atascado» en la sección central, tranquila y melancólica, hace unos días que no puedo ir más alla del compás 40…
¿Seré demasiado ambicioso?
Espero con humildad encontrar el camino.

I continue writing «The language of the stars».
Now, I am in the third and last movement titled «Pegasus»:
The constellation takes the name of this mythical winged horse.
The Greek legend locates Pegasus in the punishment to the excessive ambition.
The main subject of the work is a brilliant and transparent game between the different guitars, that of agile form, draw syncopated and fast scales with the base of jazz harmonies and African influence rhythms, that symbolize the purity and fierceness of this winged horse.
Bellerophon receives his punishment by his evil ambition to want to get in Pegasus.
Now I am «blocked» in the central section, calm and melancholic, For days I have not been able to go beyond the measure 40…
Am I too ambitious?
I hope with humility to find the way.

«El lenguaje de las estrellas» sigue su camino.
He finalizado el primer movimiento, «Nebulosa».
Estoy contento, ha resultado ser como una «Tocatta» de rápidos arpegios donde los armónicos (estrellas) tienen un papel importante.
Tiene una parte central expresiva con diálogos fragmentados entre las diferentes guitarras y he experimentado con efectos y juegos tímbricos que creo que van a resultar interesantes.
Ahora estoy escribiendo la parte final del segundo, «Venus», que el destino o las musas, han querido convertir en un dulce y romántico vals de aire impresionista.
Venus, conocido también como la estrella de la mañana fue bautizado con el nombre de «La Diosa del Amor» por los antiguos griegos.

«The language of the stars» follows its way.
I have finalized the first movement,«Nebula».
I am happy, it has turned out to be like a Tocatta of fast arpegios where the harmonics (stars) have an important function.
It has a central section with fragmented dialogues between the different guitars and I have experienced with effects and tune games that I believe that are going to be interesting.
Now I am writing the final part of second, «Venus»,
that the destiny or muses, has wanted to turn a romantic and candy vals of impresionist air.
Venus, known also as «The morning’s Star», were baptized with the name«The Goddess of the Love» by the old Greeks.
