La película está basada en la historia real de James J. Braddock, un hombre que tras haberse prácticamente retirado del boxeo, volvió a boxear durante los años de la Gran Depresión para poder alimentar a su familia.
Para mi no es una película de boxeo, es una película de sentimientos, de coraje, de sacrificio, de esperanza.
James no es un boxeador de talento pero sabe para qué y para quien lucha.
Es importante saber para que o para quien luchamos, trabajamos en la vida.
En definitiva, cual es la estrella que queremos seguir…
Aunque parezca una contradicción, James «golpea» por amor, por un amor inmenso y noble hacia su familia, que lo hace invencible y lo convierte en un héroe y en la esperanza de los más humildes.
Una gran película que te hace creer que nunca es tarde para luchar por tus sueños.
Excelente banda sonora de Thomas Newman.
